I read through all 42 pages and didnt find the answer to this question. When you choose a new number with GV does it have to be a Local Number or can it be any Area Code available, there are no charges to your calling plan when using the GV correct? Sorry in advance if this is redundant but couldn't find the answer on the forum. Thanks

A GV Number is not a verizon number, You will get charged minutes to call it, any missed called that goto it will charge you minutes.(Your forwarding a call to a non-VZW number).

If you place your GV Number in your friends and family list, then no charges.

Also, by default, Google Voice calls you then calls the other number, so if the other is a VZW number, you won't get mobile to mobile (because technically GV called you). There is a setting in GV that you can have it just dial out and that will make it work like a normal phone, thereby restoring your M2M capabilities.

I have a google voice number. My main interest is to use it for free texts. I set it up and it looks like it is working fine until I check my usage with verizon the next day. Although I was sending and receiving free texts through gv, it was sending a a copy of every incoming text to my cell, that I have to pay for. How can I stop it from sending a copy of those incoming texts to my cell number?
Thanks

I too could use a Google Voice Invite if anyone has a spare. I can trade a Google Wave invite for it also! First week into my "droidhood" and loving it! my email is:

b00gie35@gmail(dot)com

(those are zeros)

Thanks!
