Gorilla Gadgets 3500mAh Extended Battery

Wow, I want this battery! Too bad I already have a Seidio 2800mah.

I also have 4 "standard" batteries due to a few Asurion Insurance issues (they told me to keep them and sent extra because their replacements kept failing.)

But hey, I lost my Droid 2 and they finally sent me a brand new Droid 2 Global as a replacement, and gave me several standard batteries.

The standard batteries are slim enough to slide into my wallet, where I keep one.

Can't really justify purchasing a 5th battery! Especially after paying like $60 for the Seidio.

(I also have a 3G Major Mojo USC battery that I had for the Iphone that is like 7500mah, cool device, powers via plug, then just attach a USB cable for any USB-chargeable device and you have a big mobile reserve.)

Keep up the stories about this battery, especially if you also use the Seidio 2800mah battery (not 2600mah one) and can compare!

Does Battery Left require a full drain for calibration? I cleared the memory on the app after I inserted Gorilla battery, then charged it up. On the first day, I used it extensively, drained it to what the default firmware put down as 5%, and then continued to use it for another 5 hours or so before charging it up at night.

The next day, I noticed that the Battery Left app actually started showing me a lower percentage usage than the system?! And it remained consistently lower -- it was like it hadn't learned anything from the previous day.

I lost my confidence in it and disabled it, but I'd like to hear if a complete drain does allow it to calibrate ok. I downloaded "battery diviner" but that seems to trust the system's battery level and just tells you how long it'll take you to drain it. Anybody else have a good battery level solution out there?

I think it took me 3 complete drains to get battery left 100% calibrated. In the center tab of battery left it let's you know.

Just rereading this... I should have said it started showing me a lower percentage of battery left, or higher battery drain than the system's icon.

I didn't expect it to be accurate immediately, but figured it should at least trend towards knowing that the capacity was much higher than what the system expected it to be.

anybody have any idea on how to disable the red flashing led on low power? so annoying
BattMonx will turn it off... still playing with it.... and I think it turns off all led functions... so just enable it when that light starts...fyi need root...dx2.3 root:-)

Edit...when you get a call it turns back on:-\ ...ohh well just can turn it back off:-)

Anyone who wants a long battery life, should purchase this Gorilla Gadget battery. It's awesome!

My phone was fully charged around 8am and right now it's at 70% with heavy heavy use, It's currently 4pm.

wow, this thread went viral, lol so glad I started this, glad everyone so far is enjoying the battery, sorry I haven't responded in a long time, I haven't had the chance to respond lately and or have a chance to fix the led indicator light. I have been super busy with Red Bull trying to get my team's market ready for the summer so really no time. If I ever get a chance to look into it I will but Im swamped, sorry to everyone who has been expecting a fix.

I just got the app today, but battery monitor free tells me the percentage left as 54, where the stock indicator has been at 5 for the last 7 or so hours. I'll get back with more accurate results in a few days.

This battery lasts forever man! :icon_ banana:

I don't use the Battery Left Pro, I just assume once the phone hits 5%, I have about 6-9 hours left depending on my usage.

I received this battery earlier today and put it in my phone and threw it on the charger so it can charge up, the problem is, my phone has gone into a continuous boot loop after installing this battery. Is it because it needs to sit on the charger for a few hours? Or a defective battery? When I put the stock battery back in the phone boots up just fine.

That is strange man. It didn't happen to my D2. You might want to call Gorilla Gadget and ask them about that.
