Does the Droid X employ gorilla glass? Reason I ask I pulled my phone from my pocket today. Keep the screen facing in. The screen hit against a rivet on the jeans. Now there is an inch long scratch on the screen. Can't see it when in the dark but in sunlight its visible even without the light reflecting on it. I've seen videos on youtube that show scratch tests and they survive it. If this phone has it why did it get a scratch. The rivet is not sharp either. Dull. I don't know.

Yes it does....

Mines been naked since day 1 and zero scratches...

Any ideas why it would scratch?
Any idea on how to remove the scratch?

Nothing is 100% scratch proof, just scratch resistant. Unfortunately it is possible to scratch gorilla glass

Sand particles will scratch GG as well as Brass.....

What's funny it won't scratch using somthing sharp as keys. But will scratch with a dull metal rivet. Crazy. Guess ill have to live with it. Its more scratch resistant than capacitive screens. That scratch if you look at them wrong.

The rivet is brass. But so dull and rounded over you wouldn't get cut if you dug you finger into it.

And that is exactly why I use a skinomi. Takes out the risk factor. The best 11 dollars I spent for the dx.

"what evrrrrr"

What is "Skinomi"?

Edit looked it up on amazon. Looks exactly like Clear Protectors. I hated them. Very hard to slide on the screen. I used them way back on my LG Voyager. Real tacky feel.

Any ideas for getting rid or reducing the scratch on the X. I know I used an eraser on my lcd tv when it got a pin hole scratch. Seemed to help.

This is why I put on a screen protector from day one of my Droid X. The ZAGG one was terrible. PITA to install, looked crappy, felt tacky and made the screen look weird. I'm much happier with my otterbox commuter screen film.

Have you tried the VZW ones? super simple to use and put on and has helped my phone.

I'm just gonna let it ride for now. See if any more scratches develop. Thanks guys!
