Got a droid 2 as a replacement, question is....

He didn't give me any details, and my phone didn't even have the latest OTA installed, but he was very quick to send me a new phone without even looking.

Maybe they are trying to get more D2s out in people's hands.

@Hook, I was't even trying to get a replacement and they are sending me a new D2. The Verizon tech said that something went wrong with the latest software update and Verizon is solving it by sending out new D2s to anyone with issues that sound similar.

UH Oh ...sounds like the official OTA is bricking D1's ... this does not bode well if it is true.

I think it bricked mine. It has been possessed since 2.2 came out. New one arrives tomorrow.

Same here. First reboot after the install I unlocked it and it froze on an empty desktop, requiring a battery pull (I waited 30 mins). Since then, the same thing has happened when going back to the home screen every day or two, also requiring a battery pull.

wow... mine did a really wierd thing with txting yesterday kept adding letters and numbers and symbals all on its own and wouldnt stop till i locked my phone and unlocked had to do it several times then powered off and back on and hasent done it again but a new d2 would be nice...lol

The refurbished D1 they sent is doing the exact same thing... I went to Verizon and they are overnighting me a new D2.

It seems like it is Touchdown that is causing me to lockup now. If I remove Touchdown my phone behaves better. Something in the new update disagrees with Touchdown on my phones.
