This is not about multiple notifications from Handcent. I already read that thread and fixed that problem before it happened. However, I have had friends tell me that they are getting the same message from me 2 or 3 times. I know the networks occasional bork and send a duplicate, my friends does it a 3 or 4 times a month.

But last night, she received duplicates of several messages. Is this some conflict between Handcent and the built-in messenger? Is there a setting change I need to make?

couple people have had this issue, myself included. I don't believe it has anything to do with Handcent or the phone... would think it would be a VZW issue. There are other threads on this same issue... no real definitive answer, even from Verizon.

I had never receieved a duplicate message until i started using handcent. A few people have said it's due to the stock messaging and handcent running simultaneously.

Easy to correct

Two ways 1. go to handcent web page FAQs. 2. Go into system messenger , menu, settings, and disable notifications. Then ensure notifications are enabled for handcent

heh did you read the original post. seriously...

to the op, i can't help with your issue, but i have seen some people say their text messages get resent when they reboot their phone when using handcent.
