Handcent icon doesn't display # of unread texts anymore

It used to so a little 1 on the icon on the home screen. Now it doesn't. The LED still turns on and there's still a notification on top, but no little number like before. What happened? All I did was turn on "Split 160" and "Disable popup"

Does nobody try to solve their own problems anymore? Did you try a single solitary thing to solve this on ur own? Have u tried any one of the two most common fixes? Rebooted or pulled the battery? Ok I think u get the point /rant

Delete the handcent icon, long press blank spot select widgets find the handcent widget select that put it where u want it. That usually fixes make sure u select widgets because a regular shortcut won't have pretty numbers. There I ranted at you and helped win win o.O

I have both "Split 160" and "Disable popup" enabled and still have the number of unread shown on the icon

LOL.... this is funny.... I have had Handcent installed since day one and I have read in quite a few places that you can get number of messages on the icon, I've never had it and it really never bothered because its such a great app even without it. I had wondered a few times why I didnt have the feature and now I read this and realize how stupid I was. I added the widget instead of draging it out of my app menu and it works great...

ok i'm flat out embarrassed. I've had Handcent since day one with my Droid. I swear I've gone to add the Handcent widget to my home screen before and nothing was there. (swore I didn't have it, or Handcent didn't offer it) So after reading this post I decide to check again... low and behold it's been there all along...

I've had the shortcut from the app drawer as my icon... the widget on mine does display the number of unread texts... which is great since I 'hid' the notification bar with Home++. We learn something every day :)
