Handcent updates

I have noticed through the past few updates (over the last few days) every few text messages I get, the phone will reboot. Anyone getting this problem??Are there any diagnostics to find if the app caused the phone to crash or if its a problem with the phone?

Working okay here so far. About a week using it. No problems yet.

works great for me, they even fixed the "quick reply" lag issue I had. I'm very happy with the update. Kinda weird how they've updated about 2 or 3 times this week already.

it just happend again, when it showed multiple messages in the quick reply, during the switch to the second message is when it reboots

did you try uninstalling it and then reinstalling it?

grrr just did it again, thats like 4 times today.. its definately happening when the quick reply loads, shows an old message, i slide it over to view the new one, and reboot

took the suggestion, uninstalled and reinstalled, noticed it kept my messages, wasnt sure if it kept my ring settings, went in, pressed test, and boom, another reboot.. what is going on??

After installing Handcent, and prior to you experiencing these reboots, have you installed anything else?

If so, that app/widget could be the problem.

good news (so far) So i am at the bar, blah blah blah, and I get the popup about the android update, I accept it, it reboots, I go into handcent, try the test notification, and it works fine.. So for now, I will call this a possible (although a major one for me) issue between the newest version of handcent and android 2.0... So far so good, should there be issues in the future, I will reopen this thread

I assume that since you haven't posted, you are no longer having issues. I have had a similar issue to yours regarding handcent. The phone has restarted on me twice now: once yesterday and once today. Both times I was using handcent. Since it has only been two times, I haven't noticed a pattern as to what I was doing exactly. I just remember that I was typing in a message and then I couldn't do anything, then a few seconds later, the screen went blank and the phone rebooted.

Just thought I would keep this thread alive in case it had happened to anyone else. I'm assuming the issue is with handcent since both times it happened I was in the program, but who knows. The only other issue I've had with handcent is when I receive an mms, the program force closes when I select to download. This hasn't been a huge issue because after the force close the mms shows up, but still annoying.

have you gotten your android update yet though?? that seemed to have fixed my problems
