Happy with bionic

Im happy with my bionic, I came from iphone 3/3gs that I liked but wanted to try something new and even with a few battery pulls and apps uninstalling this phone is way faster on every level than the Iphone was. Im tired of reading that people are stuck in 2 year contracts with a phone they dont like and I call BS .....your never stuck, if you want another phone then buy it.

I like it.

I would like it more if I didnt have to restart it 1-2 times a day to restore my data connection.

I would like it even more if I got more than 3-4 hours on a full charge.

Also a bit of a phone tech junkie here, and I think this thing rocks. Came from a Voyager to a Rogue to an Eris to an X2 to the Bionic and this is inifinitely better than all. Only problem I'm having is with the data connectivity. Yeah, it's annoying, and it seems to happen to me at the most inopportune times (like when I'm trying to look something up to prove someone wrong or tell someone I can check the weather faster than they can.....)

But, since I know this has been addressed and will be fixed soon, I have no complaints. I can't wait to read through the Prime forums a week or two after its launch and see all the release issues it's having and then everyone talking about returning their Prime for the Vigor because they don't like the way it tastes after being in a dark room for too long. Such is the life of a smartphone user, if you're expecting a perfect phone out of the box within the first month of release than you will always and forever be disappointed. I love this thing, have it on wifi 70% of the time anyways and it is a beast of a phone. Maybe I was just desensitized coming from my failed mess of a phone X2, but I don't think that's it. With my X2, I almost went back to my Eris. With my Bionic, I have no problem waiting a short while for the few issues to be fixed.

I also want to add that even to this day, Moto has not let out an official response about the issues of the X2. In only a few weeks of the Bionic being out, they already announced a patch will be released at some point in the near future. Look. X2 isn't even included in those 5 phones at the top of the forum page, wasn't on launch either. Point is, the fat cats care about this phone, give it time and new software will make it unstoppable.

I actually just returned mine. Waiting on the next nexus :D I did like the bionic though, always loved motorola build quality, just want a more raw google experience.

I came to the Bionic from a palmpro running windows 6.1 mobile. I'm rooted and SqLite tether. The only issues i've had is being unable to use the block buster app and the occasional loss of data signal.

I likely will test drive the htc Vigor and possibly the nexus. Whichever of the three girls best suits me will be the keeper.

I believe the bionic has 2 gigs inboard ram and it's pc ram rather then phone ram (hence much faster). Gotta keep that front and center.

I believe the issue with block buster is that I'm rooted.

I love the phone I have only had it 5 days but its awesome! I have wifi on all the time and I use it at home. That is the only time I use wifi. I have spotty 4g where I live but decent 4g where I work. I can get 9-10hrs of use out of it. I play angry birds, words with friends and a lot of texting and a decent amount of surfing. Oh yeah I do stream pandora too once in a while.

I'm happy with mine. The only minor downside is there isn't a decent case (that I've found) for the phone with the extended battery and back (and I'm doubting that there is a dock that will fit either).

I spoke with a rep at Otterbox and was told that a team has been working on an extended battery version foyer the bionic but was not certain if it would follow the commuter offer defender series... If someone can confirm... The commuter works in the docks when the insert is removed.

I love mine. I have had it since Tuesday now and not one lock up or battery pull needed. My battery life seems about as good as my Droid 1 and I am only on 3G here (for now). Should be getting 4G in our area in the next month.

So what do we have about 25-50 people complaining about this wonderful phone. I wonder how many been sold in the states thus far 500,000 plus?

I love my Bionic. Absolutely love it (minus 3G/4G handoff issues and moto's bootloader fiasco). That being said, I'm getting more and more regretful and jealous by the day. I always wanted a Nexus phone but never believed it would actually happen on Verizon. I loved my OGD google experience, and I think Nexus release day is going to be a sad day for me as I'm too invested in the phone (a couple extra batteries/cases/docks, and my upgrade is long gone now). Maybe we'll see ICS by next summer or so. But it'll still be a blurred, bloated, and locked down experience, not to mention I've been worried about root lately, seeing how the new FXZ files moto uses don't seem to be able to restore to an earlier version than the phone's currently on (someone correct me here if I'm wrong, please!). I do like the blur on this phone much more than I wanted to, but would love stock ICS too.

Anyway, positives here are I'll already be two months in contract by the time the Nexus is released.. and I had to get off my OGD before I snapped. I love Moto's build quality more than any other hardware manufacturer out there (especially Samsung). Hand-in-hand with that is the DROID brand. I love it. Beating the [extremely, decomposing] dead horse here.. but here's hoping Moto[/VZW] unlocks the bootloader and releases the magic. That'll never happen though. Let's hope the Nexus nudges Verizon that way or the devs have a miracle breakthrough.

I wouldn't be so skeptical in having to wait till next summer for ICS. It should be released on certain phones within the next few months and then it'll be out for others over a few more months. Not saying it'll happen this year (it might), but I doubt it'll be any later than Feb 2012.
