Has anyone tried to sue Verizon over "unlimited" data plan not being unlimited?

I have a question...I tethered yesterday and I literally downloaded about 200 megabytes in just a few minutes. (the tethering app said it, keeps track). It was a website with about 30 videos on one page.

If I visited this same exact site from my phone, would my phone download the same amount of data or does it download more tethering?

That does bring up a serious question. What good is 2gb of data (at $30.00) when you have Netflix or Hulu? 2gb is nothing!

i know you can dial down the quality on netflix to help with usage limits.

I've never seen that setting... although I haven't thoroughly looked into but I haven't seen any settings at all on Netflix

I regularly use over 5GB if I find a good series to watch on Netflix, also I've never heard a single complaint from Verizon about my data usage...so unlimited was/is unlimited...they probably said otherwise in store to "help save the network" so not everyone will go crazy with data usage

Usually, the same people that are worried about going over 5gb of data in a month....are the same ones illegally tethering in the first place, lol. Because 5gb is A TON of data to use on a cell phone.

your definition of "illegal" leaves something to be desired.

Whatever you want to call it -- it's against the TOS you agreed to.

They advertise that we can netflix and share hotspots.... They don't tell us itll cost an extra arm and a leg to do it. 2gig is one and a half movies a month.

I've only had my new Charge for 36 hours and have used nearly 1GB without tethering. Pandora, youtube, emailing large pictures and general surfing. Its just so damn fast compared to my wife Droid x on the 3G network. Those on LTE without unlimited plans are screwed IMHO!

I actually still have a 3g usb air card still on an unlimited data plan. Supposedly it was only introductory, as I went into Verizon once and the guy behind the counter said he was surprised it was still unlimited. He said he wasn't going to mess with it and I still have the unlimited data plan. I'm wondering if I upgrade to a 4g air card will I keep my unlimited data plan for it.

Someone should stream HD movies on their phone for a month straight using Hulu/Netflix and see how high they can get their unlimited data to go.
