HDMI play with Netflix on TV?

I just found that you can stream Netflix with the Droid X. I tried a buddy's HDMI cable but it did not play on the TV?... Is there a trick? Do I need to mirror like his EVO? If so /not, what is a good FREE app to make it work? Thanks...

RealHDMI works but I think it screwed up my HDMI port. Either that or my HDMI cable magically went bad 5 minutes after I used it

Are you sure it's not the tv's hdmi port?
If you have a computer monitor that supports it try the hdmi cable on that monitor if the same issues shows up it's your phone if not then it's the tv's port either someone needs to report their lost...
