HDMI question

I've noticed there are a few apps that can pipe what's on your phone to the tv using hdmi out like you tube videos and such... my question is why doesn't this come stock?

because google hasnt released one of their flagship ones aka nexus one, nexus s that includes hdmi. until they do this will not be supported natively.
