Mine works. Watched some videos I took on a 1080p Samsung 40". Although they look ok, it doesn't look like a blue ray.

Very few ROM's have HDMI built in. Your best bet is to get a ROM that has the stock gallery. I know HDMI works on ApeX, because that is what I use and I've tried it.

hdmi doesnt work on most roms because they try to give u vanilla android. android doesnt support hdmi natively. blur does. apex supports hdmi because it uses the blur gallery
