Help me pick a laptop

Mac guy here myself as well. If you interested in a Mac, MacBook Pro, hands down one of the best laptops available.

I have to agree on the Mac. Hubby (electrical/computer engineer) bought me a Macbook last year and it is the best machine I have ever owned. I was against changing, but decided (just this once LOL) to listen to his recommendations. I'm glad I did :)

I can appreciate the love for the mac but the only mac in my budget is the bottom rung macbook. It's right at $999 the max of my budget and it has literally half the ram of the others I am looking at. And it will not play any of the games I want to play because it has integrated graphics. To get a macbook or macbook pro configured to fit my needs I will have to double my budget.

I realize I probably just turned this into a Apple/PC war thread. I hope not. I guess I'm hoping someone will post a link to the ultimate laptop deal that has everything I want right in my budget. LOL. Hey, it could happen

No wars from me :) We still have PC's in the house too..I just prefer my Mac. I love apple products like my itouch...however I REALLY love my Droid. I'm not completely loyal to any brands.....except when it comes to purses. Those are uber important :icon_ banana: LOL

I know you said no to a mc but I'm just gonna say that I bought the upper regular macbook acouple years ago and it still runs like a champ and does everything I want to do beautifully. Everything I've done with my droid also works great with it. Just my $0.02

Have you considered the iPad? Well within your budget - though not sure it fills all your needs...

#1 on a MacBookPro. Too bad you can't increase your budget... mike :)

I would try to pick up a Thinkpad with a discrete GPU if I were you, my friend bought one recently and he LOVES it. They have the best laptop keyboards around, hands down.
