My phone did the blackout thing once; I do have weatherbug donate. I got the Shake Awake app and after a call i just shake the phone and I have gotten the screen back every time so far.

screen goes black during phone call

I have a similar issue to what I've seen reported here. The big difference is that my phone isn't waiting for me to bring it close to my face before going black. It goes black as soon as I answer the call, regardless of its position or orientation. This makes it unusable unless I am using a headset of some kind. Pulling the battery of course resets it, however that's hardly a solution. Any more ideas? I am currently running 2.2.2 and am discovering whole new ways to swear...

fyi: "Speaker Shake" is a workaround until the bug is fixed. It is one *quirky* workaround, but at least you have a phone instead of a brick.
