oh lol my bad that's the wrong page. underneath step 1 there are 3 options and the middle one says download file to a cd, click the link that says download under that option to get to the page i was talkking about

Dude. All you need to do is put the sbf file in the rsd lite folder. No need for the linux solution.

It will be either
program files\motorola\rsd lite
Or
program files (x86)\motorola\rsd lite
If you're on 64 bit.

in my experience the file should be able to run without being in that folder. anyway i doesn't really matter, he is already booted in to ubuntu and working through the steps.
