HELP! Red Droid Animation

If you bootstrapped after installing the rom pull the battery before it boots into android,and you want rsdlite 4.8

Also if you have advanced task killer go into the notification bar to bootstrap long press to open app and you can bootstrap like that with no launcher

I have it running... with my email notificaitons coming thru... i can open stuff if they pop up on my notification bar... but there are no icons...
Anyway to get the launcher back on it?

Do you have task killer installed if you do pull down the notification and enter the app ,then you will see a skull that's red that is bootstrap, long press it and a menu will pop up go to switch to it will enter the app press bootstrap recovery wait till it says ok, then reboot recovery. Now your in cm recovery.

That is also how you bootstrap using that app like that.

Great news.... I sbf'd...and it worked!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Okay... so now back to basic phone...
I will root.... (Not a problem)
I will leave oc alone for now...
I will install rom manager pro
I will move squid to sdcard then use rom manager to mount /data and /system... then install rom and reboot... is that it... ?
Do i even need d2 bootstrapper at all?
If i install the squid with no blurr....and i then oc to 1.35 i will be happy...

I am glad everything worked out for you bootstrap all the time if not you wont be able to get into clockwork recovery and that's bad.

Hey Squidly, I am running fine... I am curious about the scripts (I loaded the full blur).... they seem to throw me into trouble...
I use android terminal... I type su
it changes prompts...
I then type the script...
Do I have to mount anything before hand... do I have to type su before each script?
Do i have to reboot after each script is run?

Also.... using d2bootsrtapper...if i click the top button..."bootstrap recovery".... what exactly does that do... can i reboot my phone normally? And when shoudl I use that button?
I understand the second button reboots my phone to the screen where I would load the rom... but the first one has me confused... along with when I have to mount /system, /data and /sdcard....

Well googlecal,weawidget -rm,and blursocialapps -rm will remove your blur launcher so if you don't have adw or launcher pro you will have no launcher. Everytime you install a zip you should press the bootstrap recovery button,that way if you ever got into trouble you could restart the phone, pull the battery before it boots (right after the M) restart and it will go into recovery.

Ok. I think I hosed mine phone somehow and I can't get into recovery by holding the x down after the pressing the power button. I just get the triangle with the exlamation point. It just sits at the red eye animation. Anyway I can get this back up and working?

Try turning the phone off and leaving it off for a few mins then plug it in to a wall charger and let it sit on that for a few minutes and then holding down the power button. You may be able to get in to the custom recovery.

Ok. I yanked the battery. Thats the only way to turn it off at this point. After a few minutes I should but the battery back in and plug it in to the wall charger? Is there anyway to SBF this thing if I cant actually get it to start up?

After holding the x.... and you see the exclamation point are you hitting the search key (on the keyboard)?
That should get you to the sbf recovery menu

Yeah.. worst case... pull battery... wait... put battery in... hold x button and power together... at M let go of power ... it will then bring you to the exclimation point... hit the search button and it will bring you to the SBF menu... where you can wipe data, reset to factory... etc....
