help? trying to install ultimate droid 8 from bb0.4

What do u mean by your back up not working?? What is it doing when u try to load back up? Tparker is right. Don't give up on a new rom. Let's figure out what's going wrong.

step 7 MAKEA NANDROID BACKUP NOW IF YOU HAVENT
step 8 wipe data factory reset do this 3 times
step 9 install
step 10 allow update.zip
step 11 install update.zip (depracated)
after it is done reboot and you will be prompted to sign into google again. Once you do this just let your fone sit and do its thing for a few minutes ..The FIRST boot may take a little while!!!!!

CLOCKWORK MOD INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
If you are running clockwork recovery you can try installing it.
step 1 hold x and power button and phone will boot into recovery make a backup before anything
step 2 put the downloaded rom.zip on the root of the sd card(you do not need to rename it update.zip you can leave it whatever its called from wherever you downloaded it
step 3 wipe data/cache about 3 or 4 times
step 4 install rom from sd card
step 5 install
step 6 reboot
step 7 sign into google
step 8 just let your fone sit there its going to start downloading all your apps on its own (do not open market)
step 9 finished

JDLUKE.. quit fraking out, your phone is fine (will be anyways).. Since it's probably bootlooping, take the battery out. Before you put the battery back in, hold down X and power.. put the battery back in.. (yep, it's uncomfortable). Now that you are in recovery mode.. proceed.

my phone wont even turn on now! i had to plug it in to the wall to get into the clockworkmod and when i try to plug it in to my computer, it wont event turn on! wow, i really should have just left my phone alone.

lol.. you phone is dead man. Let it charge on the wall for a bit. When the phone is dead, USB charging is no good. Either that or if you have a spare battery or 2nd D1, use that battery.

I had this issue once because I killed my battery mid rooting. Just yanked the battery out of my phone and put it in my wifes phone. Flashed again and got it done.

Xkape is right. Take a breath.
Your charge died. Usb doesn't charge from mac.
U will be ok.
Once u get it charged, follow xcape quote on ud8 install FROM CLOCKWORK.

haha thanks for calming me down man, i just chose the wrong day to do this cause i got a world history and latin 2 test tom. so im kinda stressin out! thanks everyone for the help, and i will let you know what happens after its charged.

it seems my droid isn't charging. I have it plugged in the wall, and after about an hour, I took it out and got into recovery for about five seconds until it shut off and died again. I am going to leave it in the wall over night i guess, but it is at the "m" logo and stays there whenever i plug it in. just wondering what I should do.

It appears to me that perhaps the battery won't charge until the phone is working. I avoided (and never knew about because of) this because I took a battery from another phone that had juice.

JDLUKE... do you have or know anyone who has a D1 or a D2? You would need their battery for a couple minutes.

Or if you live in Cincinnati, you can borrow mine
