Help unbricking a Droid 1

Oops, that was an accident. Anyway, you could flash the 2.0.1 sbf, and if the feature is in that sbf, you will get notifications for an OTA update either to 1)FRG83G/D or 2) the next update after 2.0.1 (2.1) and you'll keep updating through those versions until 2.2. I'm not 100% sure about that so don't take my word. But if you sbf a stock file then you'll get OTAs. That's for certain.

would you suggest 2.0.1 or just go to 2.2? which do you think has the better chance of success? haha i guess i'll try FRG83D first if doesn't work i'll redo what i have so far and then try 2.0.1 which is ESD20?

Yeah, I would try sbfing FRG83D first and then installing the G from D .zip. If that doesn't work, then try 2.0.1. You might try the first one, I'm not really sure which it is, and then it might go through the OTA sequence. Your best bet would be to SBF FRG83D and using RZR for the .zip. Just try that first, and if it doesn't work, I'll try to help with some different advice, but you might have to wait for someone with more experience than I.

yea the FRG83D didn't work.. back to where i started.. doesn't make sense honestly.. i can flash a recovery, but not an sbf.. i'll try ESD20 now... i was also thinking.. if i can get to recovery why not install the stock ROM through it.. no more sbfing... idk

trying now.... seems to be installing ok... i'll let you know.. i just grabbed the odexed ESD20 zip from peter... that would be the stock rom.. hopefully it will install all i need

- nope it installed fine.. but wont go past the boot loader.. gonna try to sbf ESD20 now

Error Switching phone to BP pass through mode (0x70BE)

and then back to the Code Corrupt on the Boot Loader...

Hmmm... I've only had to sbf my droid one time and it did it just fine. I'm not entirely sure what that message would mean. Did you move your phone any during the process? How long did you let the phone sit while it the sbf was being pushed?

You could try to sbf every one of the files from ESD20 to FRG83G to see if any of those do it. Or, if you're patient enough (and you don't plan on having this droid as your personal phone just yet), you could try to push one sbf multiple times to see if it might work. And/or trying to install different ROMs. Maybe, since you're in RZR, you could try going to Wipe Options and wipe EVERYTHING multiple times, if it'll work, and then trying a ROM.

I'll keep playing with it, i have Droid X this was just a "toy" to develop on, i'm a themer for the DX wanted to expand my horizons so no worries about time... however i found this on android central

EDIT: The phone is a bootloader loop. When it reboots after the flash, it just goes right back to the bootloader screen again....I assume that's why it's failing to switch into that mode.
Just an FYI, it is still possible to get into an unrecoverable bootloop... it could have been something physically broken with the phone I guess, hard to say.

Hmmm... well, if that's the case, I'm no longer able to help. Unless you're hardware savvy, you could take it apart and look for any abnormalities. Or have someone else look at it? Either way, goodluck with trying to fix your OG Droid. Maybe after you've acquired a working OGD I could beta test some themes for ya. Preferably a Gundam Wing theme on a GPA15 build. I'm sorry that I can no longer be of assistance to you.
