Allow me to add my 2 cents here. I own a Moto Droid that was an almost perfect phone before Froyo. I now get about 1.5 hours battery life on a full charge on a good day. Verizon has replaced the battery, the charger and now ultimately the whole phone with NO IMPROVEMENT. I called Verizon and they instructed me to go to the store, which I did. I explained my problem, went through all the "fixes" that didn't fix, including the hours and hours I have spent researching this problem on this and other forums. I was told (in no uncertain terms) by the Verizon representative at the store, was that it is a problem with Google - that the first edition Droids are not fully set up to "handle" Froyo and that a large percentage of owners are experiencing the battery life problem. I asked what the *&#* I was supposed to do as I rely on this phone for my livelihood and the rep suggested I call again and demand I be given a Droid 2. I really don't see that happening, so in the meantime I have a completely useless device unless you count the hour it will operate off a charger. Today it was completely charged and discharged 6 times during the course of the day, and that was with very minimal use. I have installed solutions and uninstalled what people suggested as problems and nothing has changed. Anyone have any comments on this?

How long have you had it? Many people have gotten the D2 as a replacement for the D1 actually!! If you (or anyone else if you're on a family share) will be able to upgrade soon, I'd say ROOT!!!! I've had ZERO problems since switching to Froyo back in June (thanks to DF) but, I'd check on a warranty replacement first. The D2 is awesome though I'm not a fan of Blur!

Have you run anything like TaskManager? I would suspect you have some rogue process sucking some CPU.

Are you running a task killer or antivirus software? Both are bad news for the battery and performance of the device.

The rep was full of it, too, because the VAST majority of Droids have handled 2.2 flawlessly. Simple solution to find out what's eating your battery is to go Settings> About Phone> Battery Use and see what's listed. If you're getting a very high "cell standby" rating then the problem is you're going into dead zones and your phone is burning juice desperately trying to get signal.

Completely agree! As a rep myself, I would NEVER tell a customer that! Not out of trying to hide anything but because its NOT TRUE!!
