Help with Google Contacts

Hello, I am having a very ANNOYING issue. I'm new to droid and got my new Droid Razr yesterday. I had all my contacts under "phone only contacts" and thats just how i like it, after setting up a g-mail for the use of youtube and other applications on the phone, all of a sudden all numbers i want to add are now considered "google contacts" and i dont like that considering I'm just texting and calling these people. I want all my contacts to only be listed as "Phone Only" contacts and not "Google Contcts" if this makes any sence to anyone out there can you PLEASE help me out to get all my contacts as phone only contacts, it's making me regret my switch from blackberry to droid and it's a shame because i was in love with this phone until this occured.
