HELP with notifications

HElp how do i make my phone stop notifying me with this icon ?

I turned off the Messaging Notifications for the built in software and installed HandCent worked great for a few days now i am being notified by HandCent and with that icon and i have no idea why Please Help Very ANNOYING

Go into the settings for Handcent.... scroll to Notification settings.... change the notification icon... that black letter is one of the options for taskbar notification.... there's others to select from in the app. Give it a shot!

Open Handcent > click on the Wrench in the top right > Notification settings > Notification icon

no i get both the lil mail icon and the standard Handcent icon otherwise i am getting double notified i am not sure if Handcent is the one double notifying me though.

Hmmm... gonna have to dig on this one... lemme see what I can come up with.

When that notification comes up... click on the Menu soft key and then tell me what program that black envelope is associated with. It will say when you open the notifications tab.

Any resolution to this? I've got the same problem. When you click on the notification, it takes me to messaging, even though I've turned off all notifications for messaging

This is actually my fourth Droid, the first three having hardware issues...getting a little tired of swapping these things out...
