high regards for my dx2

This is the first phone I have owned that keeps a rock solid 3g connection at all times at my house. The signal in my house is very strong, so it has never been a weak signal issue... my other phones would just decide to stop using 3g and switch over to 1x. I know all the tricks to rock the phone back into evdo, but most of the time it would take a battery pull or some other combo of tricks to get evdo back.

My dx2 has been perfect with regard to evdo signal integrity.

I really like the faster processor speed, which is most evident when using the camera or the camcorder. Its focus and takes pictures more quickly than the original droid x. The camera is faster in all respects, and it is also better at taking shots in lower light situations. The camcorder, backed by a faster processor, shows no lag even when moving the camera quickly. Playback is smooth. Very impressed with that. There is no longer any reason not to use the camera phone and the camera camcorder, they work beautifully.

I do not like the new gallery. The facebook pictures showing up as the main focus in the gallery is obnoxious to me. I have not figured out a way to change it so that my pictures on the sd card are what shows up instead of facebook updates. There doesn't seem to be a way to change this. I have also noticed a little bugginess in the gallery. I have had a reboot happen while using the gallery... not sure if this had anything to do with Advanced Task Killer or not (no longer using ATK).

Call quality is superb. I had an issue with an unresponsive touch screen... but I think I solved that problem by uninstalling Advanced Task Killer. Been working well since removing it.

Mobile hot spot is also rock solid and very very fast. Loving that, since I live where no internet is available, besides horrendous satellite internet (I would rather have no internet than satellite internet! ).

I wish dx2 had the keyboard my Thunderbolt had... with the up down left right keys... makes it soooooo much easier to navigate text fields to position the cursor where you need it.

Those directional arrows on the Thunderbolt were really helpful... but what I miss the most about it is... the kickstand! What a feature! All smartphones should come with a kickstand imho. This keeps the phone at more of a distance in many situations, which reduces exposure to radiation, and it is also just plain good sense for usability's sake.

All in all, this is the best smartphone I have ever owned, very satisfied. I hope the Gingerbread update can bring improvements to this phone, rather than bugs.

@Crazy Composer

If you want to keep FB out of your gallery, then don't use BLUR facebook sync, it tries to integrate everything into everything (BLUR).

When I first got it I added my youtube through accounts and all of a sudden all these videos were added. It sucks lol. So now in accounts, I only have google, I'm using a 3rd party app for anything else.

Well... I had to trade my first x2 in for a new one. The screen issues I was having were actually probably processor issues. I came to that conclusion because the phone would often overheat... REALLY HOT! Usually while in the car dock. I went to Verizon and they traded it for a new one... I have had it for over a week now with absolutely zero screen issues.

Some issues are still present in the phone. It doesn't seem to like being in the phone car dock so much... phone reboots sometimes while playing music in the car dock. Stock music app.

Thanks to juhde for the FB tip, got that all figured out.

Overall, this is the best android phone I have owned yet. Several times a day I find myself feeling very happy with my mew partner (x2). :-)

I very much agree with you, the new Gallery wasn't evil but annoying.
I found the old one on the market and use that. I have nearly 1,200 pictures in several directories, and unfortunately I haven't tagged the photo's properly so doing title search doesn't work all the time. When ever it asks I make this gallery the default one and all is shiny.
