Hotspot Question

Verizon will offer 2GB Hotspot for $20 for the X using Android 2.1. Does anyone know what happens to Hotspot when we go to Froyo (2.2) which offers it as a standard feature? Does this mean we can use the Froyo Hotspot without the $20 charge from Verizon?. This does not make any sense to me that Verizon would allow this so is it possible that Verizon 2.2 update will not include Froyo Hotspot?

I guarantee that the hotspot feature in froyo will be removed or modified to work with verizon's pay plan.
