How did NFL app work for 1st game?

Didn't get it last night - asked for VCast subscription. I've been on the phone with Verizon, and the rep has instructed me to go ahead and subscribe to VCast, and I will get a credit for the amount.

EDIT: Wow, ok follow me here.......after all that, it turns out that I had to hit the Subscribe tab in the NFL app, and then download the VCast Videos app from the Market. She then deactivated the VCast subscription so that when I opened the VCast Videos app, I could only see the page offering the subscription options. Then I went back to the NFL Mobile app, and hey presto, the Live streaming worked. I made sure the rep put a note on my account of what she had done, and to make sure that I didn't get charged the $10 monthly fee, since Tech and Billing get their lines crossed sometimes. What a runaround, but the bottom line is I can watch NFL Mobile now.

Well good that makes me feel better, I hope I don't get charged. I never had to download Vcast. As far as the 4:3 to 16:9 yeah would be nice to fill the screen but oh well. WE GOT LIVE FOOTBALL IN THE PALMS OF OUR HANDS!!!! So freaking cool! One more thing Droid does! dancedroid

Sorry guys im a little confused ,this nfl mobile app I thought you can only watch the Thurs and Sun games that are on the NFL network?Or is it like Direct Tv where I can get the Sunday games too?

I was at the superdome thursday, and wanted to try out the streaming and see how delayed it was from the live game. Lo and behold, live game video streaming is blacked out in the immediate vicinity of the stadium. I don't think anyone would actually want to watch the game on their phone from the game, but I found that interesting

Nope only Thursday and Sunday night games. Basically whatever NFL network has rights too.

Same rule applies like the blackout rule for TV coverage, I believe. I've seen it mentioned somewhere on the app.

I really don't get why Verizon is gouging customers for an additional $10 a month to stream when we already have required $29.99 data plans.

Grr.

If it's only games the NFL network has rights to it's even less than that. Sunday night games are broadcast by NBC.

No, this wasn't the nfl sellout/blackout rule. The game was a sellout (the saints have sold out season tickets) and on local tv channels. The app blacks any game out in the immediate vicinty of the stadium, sellout or not. There was a message that popped up saying so. Wish I had grabbed a screenshot while there, but I wasn't quite in the proper state of mind :)

Oh, you get it. :D It's called making money. You pay for your streaming.

RED ZONE is awesome!

Well it's sunday and my favorite team (Bucs) aren't on TV. But with NFL App I can listen to the game for Free and wach RedZone which is pretty damn cool.

Side note though: I listen to it on my rooted D1 and watched redzone all on wifi and had no problems ran super smooth. Went downstairs which is closer to router and used my wife's D2 and was very buggy, kept stopping was very annoying.

is the red zone thing free?? or does it cost to subscribe to vcast??
It was free for me on D1, but i tried it on my wife's D2 and asked for me to subscribe to Vcast.

I think if you downloaded early enough then it should still be free.
