How do you copy and paste phone numbers?

I can't figure this out. I get a text from a friend, wanting a phone number of another friend, how can I copy and paste that number into a text message?

There may be an easier and quicker way but if you select a contact, tap menu, tap edit. you can long press and it will copy phone number.

I believe you can long press the number and hit "add contact" or "Save to Contacts" or "add number". I don't use the stock messenger though, so I'm not entirely sure

Hey! Friend one cannot copy paste a phone number in to a text message form the phone directory...but in your case, you can send a business card for the desired number via text message to your next friend.Because the business card facility is available in all the phones.
