Turns out I was a few shy, one less vote for 40-59 and add one to the 60-79... I have 66 "user" apps and 93 "system" apps... running CM9 with Goo's Gapps

Where can I go to check how many I have installed?

With the phone powered off press the volume down button 3 times then the volume up 3 times. Then turn the phone on and off twice. After that bring up your app list and count them.

And if that doesn't work you can go to the market under "my apps" and it will tell you how many user apps you have installed.

Two things you can do. As mentioned above, go to play store, my apps and above each section is the total count of installed apps to be updated and total count of installed apps. You can also install app management programs (I have app monster) which give you a count of your apps.

For my situation, play store reports that I have installed 138 apps. App Monster reports 171 apps (which includes the 33 bloatware apps that Verizon thought I wanted on my phone).

That's how I did it; used Titanium Backup. It tells you currently installed user apps, system apps, and total apps (and much much more).

Just to be clear, I was laughing at the first part of the answer and not the question.
