How much Available Memory do Y'all Usually Have?

Whenever I check it's always between 35 and 45. That seems low. How much memory does this phone have?

Not sure how memory it has but you can always kill tasks to free up some memory.

It doesnt really matter..... It's not like a Blackberry, with memory management issues, just let the phone do it's thing.

You're just where you need to be. If you're consistently running less than 30mg, you probably have too many active apps. Anything above that is fine.

Then explain why does it show under phone memory 748MB total and 667MB Free? Not doubting you in the least, 2nd day with the Incredible.

are you talking about under sd card and phone storage? or in applications>running services? for the latter, i always have around ~10mb free.

I'm surprised this is even discussed after the huge thread we had about don't worry about apps running in the backgrounds and such. I wouldn't have any idea how much memory I have on my Droid. Now my Blackberry, yes, I checked that daily.

Exactly, I'd forgotten where to check. It's probably a switch from Blackberry people, but it's important that they understand how superior memory management is in Android, compared to the Blackberry.

It's just like a properly functioning computer OS. You shouldnt have to worry about memory management.

generally speaking

I'm running somewhere around 100-110M free, but I use a memory utility to clear unused crud once I've dropped back to the main screen. I guess I'm old school, but I prefer to keep a solid chunk of headroom available .

drops to ~80M when I'm running a few apps.
