How to check/close an app

Don't feel bad, there are still engineers arguing about memory in Lithium Ion batteries, many years after they became available. Some techie lore just doesn't want to die.
 
I'm not sure why they push task killers. The Sprint rep tried to do the same when i bought my EVO. I then explained to him why task killers are not needed and can sometimes harm your phone. It drew a crowd in the store and led to several questions from other shoppers. The rep actually listened (shocker) and said he was going to look into it
 
It's good to have an app that has that capability in case something really gets stuck, but but not necessary to use that function otherwise.
I like System Panel for this reason; it has a number of useful functions.
