How to copy files to the PC?

I used to do this...a no brainer. I hook up the S8 to the PC with a USB cable and it shows up on my PC file manager as a drive and I copy files. Now when I plug it in, it's just charging? What happened to the option of copying files over??? Grrrrrr. Having a senior moment her.

When you connect it, swipe down the Notification bar and see if there is a "Connected as..." notification. Tap that and see if there are options like File Transfer Mode, Charging Only Mode, etc. That was a change Google made with Marshmallow (I believe).

That's what I used to see. Now when I swipe down the only option I get is cable charging. Not the other.

Try the cable that came with the phone. sounds like you are using a charge only cable.
