How to copy & paste text.

I want to be able to copy text received as an email to send to someone who can only receive text messages. If the email to copy extends beyond one screen, when I try to select the text I cannot go beyond one screen. The one screen is copied to clipboard, and if I scroll to next page it overwrites the 1st page.
Is there a way to copy the text from more than one screen full?
