How to get a Droid 2 with your Droid 1 warranty

If i was offered a D2 today, I would also turn it down. My Droid is faster and more customizable =]

Dont need insurance to be covered by the warranty. But if you do a warranty claim and they cant find nothing wrong with the phone (or purposely done) you will be charged the full cost of the replacement.

Not that I condone lying to get a phone, but I highly doubt they actually check the phone you send back, especially with the high turnover they have. When I received a bad replacement (that was worse than my defective one) the rep told me if I don't want it I can just send that one back. I asked if that was going to be a problem since its not the phone they were expecting, and she just said as long as we receive a phone it doesn't matter what they get back. They only charge you if you don't return the phone within 10 days.

So do they send the new phone out then you send yours back to them? And do they send packaging out for you to return yours to them? Will they force me to go to the store? Thanks!

After they get your phone they do a google search on the internet to see where you have been. When they see this thread, you can bet the first people they will call will be the FBI. Chance to maybe get a D2 or end up in a cell with a guy that killed 20 people and his dog... keeping my phone sounds great

They send a prepaid envelope, and you just mail it back within 10 days.

I turned it down because I don't like all the crap they put on it. I like my options I have wiht the D1.

Most importanlty I'll loose my free NFL app !

To be honest, the Droid 2 is worthless with the locked down hardware. The Droid 1 can do 99% of what the droid 2 can do not to mention free wireless tethering.

I was really having problems with my droid s and some replacements they sent me I ended up getting two droid x's but I don't suggest lieing to get a free phone.


Btw I had a store rep confirm all my issues so I had valid proof.
