How to remove battery icon from task bar?

Since I'm using a battery app that puts a icon the task bar I would like to remove the system one.

I just use launcher pro and remove the hole damn bar. And of course you don't have to be rooted, just incase you didn't know...

I like the notification bar hidden as well - but if the OP is wanting to still view the app icon he has added, it is counterproductive :) LOL...

@ OP - have you thought about a battery widget for one of your homescreens?

You have to donate to the dev for this...but it is in the widget settings (there are preset schemes to choose from but if donate via paypal, you get a unlock code). This code allows you to customize colors...

Here is a screenshot of mine with shades of blue...

Beautiful Widgets Smaller Home
Gauge Battery Widget
Executive Assistant (this allows the multiple tabs for phone, calendar, SMS, email, RSS, twitter and facebook - more info available here Executive Assistant - App, Homescreen Widget, Lockscreen )
LauncherPro (custom dock by Garemlin and text icons by Dreamlyfe)

I am rooted but it does not affect any of these apps...
