How to Replace the SD Card

O.K. I searched the FAQs and this forum and could not find an answer to my question (might not have asked it right).
Anyway, I have a 4gb SD card in my Incredible. I want to replace it with an 8gb card. I have stuff stored on the 4gb card I want to save. Do I copy everything on the card to a file on my PC and then install, format and copy everything back to the new card?
I would assume some operating files would exist once I have formatted the card...no? If I copy everything back am I overriding things that I shouldn't?
Or is there some other methodology I should use?
Thanks in advance for your help.

Copy everything on the 4gb card to your computer. Install 8gb card in the phone and format it. Attach the phone to the PC. Copy everything over to the card. Done.

Oh, that's much too simple.....of course, it works.
I don't know why I over-think these things. I haven't been awed by technology since I owned my first Apple II, but this phone fascinates me.

Thanks for your help and your time.
