USB debugging is enabled. In the command prompt after entering everything i get - 'fastboot windows' not recognized as a internal or external command, operable program or batch file. Also I dont get the Android 1 in device manager either. I even downloaded drivers and pda again. Although pda does not connect in bootloader mode either. Is that why? Idk how to connect it when you have to turn the phone off to get it into bootloader. What am I doing wrong. Lord - I'm going to have to send it to one of you guys to do this for me.

Finally got it. Had to erase and dl superboot again. Must've been a corrupt file I guess. Then I just made sure I fast booted with phone plugged in. Then it worked.

I have read you will get the OTA updates. But you should take caution and backup using CWM your rooted phone before doing any OTA updates. And a OTA update could theoretically revert the recovery upon next reboot as well. Time will tell how this pans out. If your not sure what to look for then wait to do a OTA update if it shows up and you are rooted to see what folks are finding.

Need some help, i unlocked the bootloader, and rooted, followed all the steps, updated su and installed busybox. But now when the phone goes to sleep and i try to restart it, it will flash the unlock screen quickly and go blank. it will let me swipe to unlock it, i can hear it click like usual, and then after about one minute the screen will come on. Anyone else having this problem? any help would be appreciated, thanks

Just wanted to come back here to thank you again. This thread worked for me the day the Nexus was released and it saved me so much time and was so easy to follow. Still I see people having trouble all over the net on various forums. I direct them here :)

Great tutorial.

OK, I've been waiting, and reading, and questioning what I've read and heard. Even though it was easy to Root my Droid, this puppy is much more Tender to me. And I know enough to know I'm really still a NO-OB! I've powered her up, charged and discharged, and re-charged the battery and I'm ready to begin.... I think. I have not allowed the download and installation of the first update. I just keep ignoring it. Should I update first or not? Will rooting affect future updates? I have read posts on both sides of the answer, and I'm still unsure. Also, I have not installed the LTE sim, so will this affect the process at all? So many questions, such a small phone.... I really don't want to screw the pooch on this one!
