How to update pre installed apps

Oh and by the way...I don't know why this is such a hassle.
I was gonna say its because Android doesn't want you to mess with the system folder but I think unrooted users have no such trouble...

I will say this, I have done the root explorer method many many times to get apps to update and it has worked perfect everytime. I could not get the latest facebook to update though. I tried deleting every facebook file off the earth and it still would not update. Like I said I have done it so many times before so it's not like I don't know what I am doing. I ended up getting so frustrated I just did a fresh wipe coming from 2.4 to 2.5 and installed Facebook again. I tried a million different tactics to try to get it to update and it just wouldn't. Youtube updated fine after I deleted it and reinstalled.

Lol tried rebooting no luck.
The file in the data>app folder just tells me I can install the file.

Here's what i've tried
Uninstalling from market
Uninstalling from UD settings
Rebooting
No file in the system>app folder
File in the data>app folder.

I did not wipe when I installed 2.5
The FB app I have is the smoked them I download from this section.

When using Root Explorer to do this, you should Long press the apk you want to remove and it will give you the option to delete the file!

I would of done that... If the app was in the folder system>apps
but it wasn't hence my problem.:icon_ banana:

so are these apps showing up in the market that they have an update?

just wondering if i have apps that need to be updated and dont know about it.

Yes, these are in the market and the update downloads, tries to install and then fails.

Its not a big deal though when you see the fix above
