How would you manage your 16gb?

That's not a bad option either. Flash was a major selling point for the android and now that its gone.. More of a level playing field for my choices. 16gb only and they can keep it. There is going to be a lot of people complaining about no space next year. I hate to have to go with HTC but options are limited. Rezound or iPhone. Great season? Sad choices for me...

Yeah, I'd consider the rezound, but after playing with some phones with HTC's Sense, I'm not a big fan, nor do I like the looks of the rezound, but I'll definitely go get some hands on in-store to try it out. Regarding flash, I don't think I've ever really even tried to use it on my current droid, but even if I did it probably would have been painfully slow.

From house with a couple ipad2's I can tell you my phone uses flash a lot. You don't notice it until its gone.

I am still holding out Google/Samsung isn't dumb enough to let them do a 16gb phone only. If they do I may just buy it to use as a tether for a ftp site..

For a moment i was a bit disheartened to hear it's only going to be 16 gigs. Then i realized i barely use 3 gigs of space on my droid x. so 16 gigs should be enough for me. i just dont like that i dont even hve the option to upgrade the memory.

I'm still not sold on them only having the 16gb version, as we know they made them with 32gb because multiple people were testing them.

But, if it is only 16gb, I'm not worried. I don't keep but maybe a couple hundred songs on my Droid and pictures are the only other thing on there, so personally it won't affect me.

I do understand many users use their phone as their music player, I just don't because the only time I use a lot of music is when I'm running and I never run with my phone, always run with the *touch =x

That's kind of frustrating to hear as I've been sitting on a relatively weak music collection but planned to make quite a few purchases when I get a new phone to have a wide variety for all the driving I do lately (so don't want to rely on streaming) so having only 16gb for music AND all the other stuff on the phone would be tight.

You could fairly easily get about 2500 songs on 14 GB, leaving you a couple to spare for the other stuff. Maybe I am traveling light (I have no music on my RAZR), but I'm only using 2 GBs and I have 87 programs, a few pictures, a few wallpapers, and a ringtone or two. 16 GB is a lot for a phone IMO.

You are most likely right. 16GB probably would be fine for me, but just the idea that IF for some reason or another I end up needing more space, there was never any option of choosing a larger size in the first place or popping in an SD card. Now, I understand the iPhone doesn't have expandable storage either, but at least it has options of 16gb-64gb. Also, thinking about it, I like to take a lot of videos and with 1080p recording on phones I can imagine they may take a good amount of space as well? I suppose I could just move those off of my phone onto other storage, but that would just be something else to worry about.

Basically, I don't want my phones storage to be too much of a concern, and 16GB is on the low-end relative to other current devices.

Yeah I feel you...I almost feel bad saying it but I'm considering going with a 4s. A lot of friends and family have them, so FaceTime / iMessage would be handy, iTunes integration for music would be nice, and my girlfriends iPhone 4 is very smooth and the apps mostly seem much nicer than android. But man would I miss playing with custom ROMs and all the other customization android offers! Such tough decisions for a phone lol, feel so geeky :)

Correct me if I am wrong, but those don't have micro sd cards either, and come in 16 GB or 32 GB versions. So how would that be different than the Nexus?

I love my 7 iPods and don't plan on changing to any other device. I have been using them since the very first one (with Music Match Jukebox instead of iTunes on Windows). I have almost 13,000 songs in my library (a sampling from the 5,000+ CDs I have). But you can upload 20,000 songs for free to Google Music -- even those encoded in AAC -- and access them from anywhere (a computer, your phone -- whatever). And it's free.

Stick with DROID. No 4G is a way bigger issue, to me, than "limited" storage in the Nexus. Of course, if you don't have unlimited data it doesn't matter much as streaming stuff is the whole point of 4G.

I am not an Apple hater. I like their products. I think the iPhone is nice. But I wouldn't want one, mostly because of the lack of 4G.

It's definitely on the low end, but I imagine 90% of users will have enough space. Whether people want to admit it or not, the cloud is the future of storage and people never like change, but we are moving that direction.

Go on Amazon and check out the 32GB SD cards. If you think you might need it, go ahead and get it. The prices are so much better than they were when it first came out ($200).
32 is max for our devices, when 64 comes out, it will be SDXC and wont be supported.
Btw, iPads are all that I know of to have the dual chip for 64gb.

The answer is 42.
Oh, wait, you mean to tell me you need to know the question now?
Well, I can't answer that.

Does the 4s have a 64gb option now?

I have about 600 songs, a couple nandroids, a few ROMs, GB AIO files, Boot Manager with 2 ROMs loaded on my SD card, and countless other files. I still have 6.5 GB free on my SD. So really, I could live with a 16 GB version. I don't need 15 different movies saved on my SD, countless podcasts or 20,000 songs.

Boot Manager

The deal with the Nexus is that there is no micro SD card slot. All of the storage is internal. Hence the title of this thread -- how would you manage 16 GBs?

Yeah, didn't realize you were talking about a phone with no SD slot, sorry. But yes, things are going into the cloud now, just keep what you want to have access to most on your memory and leave the rest in the cloud for access anywhere you have service.

The crappy part about cloud storage, or even 4g for that matter is the huge amount of data. I used half a gig of data up to the point I got my rezound . In just two days I've almost doubled that. People not on an unlimited plan will suffer using "the cloud".
