HTC Droid Incredible Retires? Incredible HD Taking Over?

Thanks! haha. People, jkhonea is the last person you want to get mad. so lets chill out a bit.... Oh, so i called verizon and they told me the Droid pro will start shipping on the 19th. So thats 10 days after pre-orders! Miami told us first that the dinc hd will be in stores on the 23rd. thats 11 days after pre-orders starting tomorrow. any one catch my drift? tomorrows the big day!

To speculate on what Big Red's strategy may be for the moment:

What are the biggest ways Big Red can sway customers one way or the other? It can tweak plans, and release new phones in the face of competition. New phones are being released (D2G, D-pro) and plans are being tweaked ($15 data...) What's the competition? Well W7P is the newest addition, and it's flopping for now.

It can then save these two HTC devices in its back pocket for awhile until it needs another push against the competition, at the same time sweetening these two strategy pieces up with LTE.

There's also the idea that without LTE, the incredible HD appeals to DF users, but with LTE, it appeals to a much broader market.

Of course the incredible HD may not be delayed (I hope), or it may be simply manufacturing snafus, or...

Vzw will spin it the way they want. Watch some of the videos of WP7 and go back to your android and tell me WP7 isn't innovative. I love android and hope they continue to improve, but WP7 is a little sexy if you ask me.

I want to set a disclaimer here...I am not saying this phone won't be available for pre-order tomorrow. I'm just relaying information I received from a CSR @ Verizon.

I called to have my online account updated to reflect that I am eligible for an upgrade. The website has incorrect dates vs. what Verizon has and I don't want to miss out on a "web only" pre-order.

While talking to the CSR I was talking about the new phones coming out and she mentioned that there was a phone coming out tomorrow. She kept insisting it was the Droid Pro and she was trying to find information on both the DINC HD as well as the HTC Merge. She had not heard about either device but she was excited to hear they could be releasing them soon.

She put me on hold (to fix my upgrade dates on the website) and came back about 15 minutes later and said "It's called the Incredible 2 and it is supposedly coming sometime in December."

I asked her if she learns about phones dropping the same day she finds out about them. She said that it doesn't usually happen with Smartphones but that is what happened with the OG Incredible.

Just passing the info along. It's just a CSR that had no previous information about the phone prior to my call...but interesting regardless.

CSRs are on very different planets about this phone the past few days... I'm not sure if I should believe this one. Though saying it is called "Incredible 2" almost seems to give this more credibility since it's hard to believe someone would make that up.

What if the "Incredible 2" is the LTE version and a 3G only version is coming out Nov 23?

I just got the x on tuesday and figured if this phone was released working my 30 days I would get it now seeing it move to december makes me sad yes but honestly the x is more than I expected and I'm exited to keep it
