i gotta say the screen is awful

I love this ****ing phone.

My only problem with the screen is that maybe it could have been a tad bit bigger if M would lessen the bezel width. If they stretched it flush to the edge it may have been a 4.3 without increasing the physical width of the phone.

But I'm loving it, not one complaint yet other than having a weird software issue with the pattern screen lock.

I have no idea what people are talking about with this "blue tint" talk. Don't see it. Someone please post a pic of this.

I have the rezound now and I checked out the D4 at Verizon today...gotta say not impressed . The screen was awful compared to the rezound. Not very clear, looked bad when scrolling and was just.missing that overall clarity. I guess if ur deadset on a keyboard go for it. But other that I think u will find much better phones.

With a username "rezound4now" it makes me wonder how biased you might be :)

When people say it's missing "clarity" I really wish I knew what you were talking about. It seems super crisp to me.

Download Handcent SMS and look at a text messaging conversation. It's not terrible, but certainly noticeable.

trust me the blurring isnt just black text on white background, dont get me wrong its the worst when scrolling in the gmail app, but even facebook gets all weird and blurry when scrolling. at the end of the day all i wanted was 4g and a keyboard and i got that but man how do you screw up this screen that bad
oh well when they make the droid 4 hd ill do the ebay thing

I just viewed a D4 in store. The blurring is not from the screen. Its the jackass skin Moto is using. The D4 did blur out switching screens, but when I installed go launcher, that went away. The real problem is in the Youtube & gmail apps. Is it possible that moto is using a custom overlay here too?

I put my D1 right next to it for comparison. My D1 youtube & gmail showed no blurring. Sad thing is the videos looked as good on my D1 as on the D4.

i waited rather impatiently for months for the D4 to come out. After not being waited on at Worst Buy, i went across the street to the Verizon store and finally got to play with one. first thing i noticed was the blurry battery icon and then the rest of the blurry notification bar....i could have lived with that, but the blurry scrolling, terrible colors, even more horrible keyboard, and overall lag of the UI just killed it for me. My Og droid running CushZero was smoother and had a much more pleasing screen. The Razor Maxx caught my eye with it's smooth UI and sharp display. I hate not having a keyboard, but i do like having a large clear screen. when the razor's brighness is turned down, whites become more yellow, but they did a little bit on my old droid as well. Only one place in the whole city had a Maxx left, so i guess i got the last one in town. it's been 7 hours now and the battery is still at 100%...nice! only problem is that i know I'm going to drop this phone a lot because it's too thin and light to feel like your holding anything. The UI is really fast on the razor, but feels really outdated since now I'm used to the custom roms I've been running on my Og droid.

Well, all I have to say is...thank god I didn't wait for this phone.

Rocked Droid 1 and 2 Global, loved them to death. Sure I love the physical keyboard and the virtual keyboard on the GNex is still a little bit tough for me a month and a half in, but, this doesn't seem like it was worth the wait.

Anyway, good luck with your phones, hope the bluish tints and blurry display are just defective phones that can be replaced.

Phone screen isn't blurry and I see no bluish tint.

I think people are really pulling hairs here.

Ok, once you say the keyboard is "horrible" it's impossible to take any other critiques you have with the D4 seriously.

I hope you're happy with the Max. I know I'm happy with the D4.

I held the D4 next to a maxx yesterday and the maxx display blew it away. He!!, my D1 blew it away. Blacks arnt black, whites arnt white, etc... piss poor display. I've been waiting on this phone for a few months. What a waste. I am now trying to decide between nexus, maxx, or rezound. I really like the nexus display, but the maxx may win this battle.
