The data issue are all radio/network based. Even if this was an unlocked device there is NOTHING a ROMMER could do to fix it. Outside of including a leaked radio build.
This thing is a pos or it just verizon that is a junk network. I dunno what the issue is but my d2g running hexen blew this thing out of the water. I cant keep a data connection to save my life it bounces from 3g (4 or 5 bars) to just 4 or 5 bars (no data) and heaven forbid if it goes to 4 g omg then the thing is slower than *explitive* molases in january. What a joke verizon and this friggin fishing weight the call a phone is. I wish they would unlock the friggin thing so that people that know what they are doing can actually make it work! But i am stuck who th this underperforming device until they do. I would so love to have a hopped up D2 right now.......verizon you're ultra lame...,rant off.
Ok...I have to say this:
If you came to this conclusion without trying to exchange it for another one to see if it was a bad phone....what was the point of the post? I could see if you had multiple exchanges....
Did you try a factory reset? There was a nationwide LTE outage recently. Maybe some lingering effects?
Try to fix the problem(s) first before you declare it a POS...
As for me...I have been lucky to just get good working phones, tech in general over the years. Oh and next time...try to compare a stock phone vs a stock phone, thanks.

didnt know it was a friendship contest or a dating site.....i assumed this was a webbsite where smart phones were discussed and possibly cussed. Loli was just thinking the same thing....the op/friend-o aint making it easy to like his cause....or him for that matter....
Well its the experience i have had with every "stock motodroid" that made it easy for me to come to my conclusions. I have another on the way just to make sure but i am not holding my breath.....im actually surprised my new phone hasnt arrived yet. Yes i did the factory reset.....this aint my first rodeo. Went round and round with verizon tech support as well so before you ASSume i didnt try to rqemedy the problem perhaps its you that should refrain from jumping to conclusions.....friend
