I have a nexus

Thanks for sharing. How is the physical build compared to the Motorola line.

Nothing really compares to the moto line man(sometimes htc)....The phone is very light. the rear cover is a PITA to get back on(maybe that just for the first time of doing it though.) Its a plastic/glass phone.

Throughout every phone release; it seems the biggest questions is always: "how much bloatware is on the phone!?" I REALLY wish that the phones would ship minus all that crapware and allow the people who purchase the phone to install what they want. So the GNex only has 2; well, that's 2 too many for me. Sure; you can "disable" the apps but they are still on the phone. It's a damn shame to have to root a phone in order to truly make the phone "yours". I'd love to see a phone come out sans Bloatware, boot loader unlocked, with proper update schedules. I know..... not gonna happen but hey, It's Christmas time and we can hope.

Thanks for sharing the information on the phone! Much appreciated! I am VERY hopeful that this phone is well received and well reviewed unlike the Bionic. I REALLY need to replace my OGD soon. Poor thing is locking up and needs a reboot daily now. :(

I don't think I'll EVER understand why people care SO MUCH about this... Everybody makes such a fuss about it, Google even included a way to freeze the apps so you'll never ever see them, and people still *complain about it. It's really a mystery to me.

I know I know, it's YOUR PHONE and it must have exactly what YOU WANT on it. Why don't you *complain about Google+ being on there or Gmail, but you get your panties up in a bunch about My Verizon, which includes a widget to see exactly what your data consumption for the month is.

I just don't get what all this anger over a few phone icons is all about. Where did it come from?

It was more the apps like madden and vznavigator junk but has spiraled to include everything now. I am sure a lot of people would like to turn the phone on and have nothing but android market.

Yeah, I guess that stuff is slightly annoying... And I totally understand people not liking things like the social notifier app or whatever it was that you can't uninstall, but seems to keep running on it's own. But I feel like the anger for pre-installed apps has gone a bit overboard. Hopefully no phones block ICS's ability to freeze apps, that way, it shouldn't be a problem in the future. All devices come with enough memory that 10-20 MB of frozen apps won't matter in the slightest.

For mr the issue with bloat ware started on the PC side. So much time being spent trying to find and uninstall products and services I didnt want to buy. Just carried over to my phone I guess.

The phone comes with 32 gig of total memory and every app you don't want is taking up space and system resources. Simply freezing them does not remove them from your memory. The two apps on the Galaxy Nexus is not a big deal, but some of the phones released are just loaded with nonsense.

You would understand what people are screaming about if you owned the original Droid 1. That phone was a stock phone and we had the ability to OWN the phone by customizing it any way we wanted. It was easily rooted and the roms and modifications were endless. The community got behind the phone and it was a huge success.

Every phone since then from Motorola has had a locked and encrypted bootloader and crammed full of bloatware.

This Galaxy Nexus is something we have not had in a long time. We can easily unlock the bootloader and will easily be able to make this phone the way we want it. I think the G-Nex is the next big thing and the developers are going to really get behind it.

But not everyone wants to root to have the ability to get rid of things. But with many of the other phones you have no choice if you want to actually eliminate some of the big bloat.

The reason some people don't care is because they don't know what freedom is like. When you have had the freedom and it is taken away you want it back. When you have never had the freedom you don't know the difference and tend to accept things the way they are. We want our freedom back.... only to do with as we like.

Just called my verizon store and asked if it is out yet and as usual they just say nope. And offer no info. This razr keeps getting hot and i know thats not good for it. I need to return it. Also it shut off out of the blue and woulsnt power back up...never had this with my X.

I don't care if my phone has 50 or 100MB of useless apps, as that is just a very small amount of 32GB of memory. What I do care about is that they clutter up the app drawer and some even load and slow the system. As long as I am able to completely disable these apps then I am happy. I have no desire to root my phone. Apparently I will be happy with any phone with ICS.

Oh, and I woke up to an 11mb system update also. Seems to have helped with my data connection. Previously I was only getting 1-2 bars of 4g now I have full service

Possibly. Carriers/manufacturers do interfere with Android functions from time to time though. Just as an example, on my D2 running Froyo, the option to sort contacts by last name was completely missing like it didn't exist. If you're looking at other ICS phones (whenever they come out), you'll want to be vigilant that the ability to freeze undesirable apps is still present.
