I have had it !

I think they should have everything in working order before the release a service. They release this stuff just to take in money i think it is wrong.

Don't disagree, but what can ya do? Other then switching providers, I guess.

And just who would perform the testing to ensure that everything is in working order?

Things work a lot differently when you have 17 Motorola employees and 9 Verizon employees doing the testing, than they do when the network goes live to hundreds of thousands of subscribers.

It's called "the risks of being an early adopter".

Hah. I am not alone!!

Misery loves company. $300+ for phone and add-ons, and the only thing that worked was setting the Razr to CDMA-Only. When it did work, 4g was great for downloads and browsing...but not worth the frequent data drops, resets, etc. VZW was nice and helpful, as always. They gave me a new replacement, and offered another. But, in the end, the rep agreed (confidentially) that the current problems are just too much to put up with. So, back to my usually trusty Droid X, retain my upgrade status, and wait a few months for the system problems to be solved, and for the "next" big thing.

I almost want to say this:

“Droid Razr...fail :-'( “

But I guess it's to late. I already said it.

Come on Verizon, isn't there something that you can do to give your loyal customers SOME hope? Look, they're leaving.

Yeah well I upgraded from my LG Env Touch to a D3. I wanted a physical keypad and 4G but they didn't have one with both. I since have been having trouble with my D3 being slow and a few other problems so I called up and complained about it because the sales rep said that I should go for the D3 instead of the Bionic because I wanted a keypad and 4G wasn't in all of my area. So I saw that the Droid 4 is going to be coming out in a few weeks and it is going to have what the Razr has plus a physical keypad and they are going to upgrade it to Ice Cream Sandwich. They made me a deal that when the Droid 4 comes out they would sell it to me for $100 and I could keep my D3 and sell it. Since I wanted to upgrade my wife and daughters phones they are giving me buy one get one free. That is a great deal considering my phone is 2 months old and only my wife will be up for an upgrade next month when the Droid 4 comes out.

It would be one thing if you could immediately switch over to 3G during one of these "drops", but you can't. You don't get anything. The past few days, I have been switching to CMDA only when I leave the house and I have to say I have not had one problem, but on the other hand, this sure defeats the purpose of getting this particular phone. But at least I am not left stranded without anything. I am one of the optimists that is going to stick it out and try to let Verizon stabilize things.

I hear ya they havn't even perfected 3g and they are advertizing 4g phones are the fastest thing out there. That is if you can get it.

After 4 or 5 x2's, 4 d3's, 4 bionic's, and 4 razr'si ditched motorola all together and couldn't be happier now....honestly...check out the rezound or the nexus

The problems are with Verizon's network; not the RAZR. If you run in 3G mode, like many have suggested, you don't get this issue. This is the problem with early adoption. Verizon will sort this out (too much money riding on their reputation for reliability) and then the RAZR will be just fine whereas a 3G phone won't have the option of switching 4G on once Verizon gets it sorted. That said, in my area I have had no issues with data drops (other than the nationwide outages, of course).

Well the Razr is gone and back to the Droid X . Yes I could have shut off 4g but whats the point in that ? by the way I have a brand new commuter otterbox case for sale if anyone interested?

That's what I did. Shut off the 4g until Verizon sorts out the bugs. What's funny is that I live in the Monterey county here in California. We have had 4g since early august of 2011. It has been up and down if you don't live near a hotspot. When I got up north to San Jose the 4g is alot better out there and even when I am not near a hotspot the 4g is stable. To be honest, its both the phone and the network. Mostly the phone. I have had all the top 4g phones, bionic, then Rezound, nexus and finally the Razr. I can tell you out of all those 4g phones the best and stable 4G phone is the Rezound. It will keep a strong 4g signal and I owned it for about 2-3 weeks and only had 1-2 drops with it. Hopefully its a software issue with the phone where Motorola can release a patch to increase the signal output.
