"I haven't (blank) since last year!"

I haven't eaten cake since last year, but apparently we're going to try a bunch tonight to choose for the wedding.

I don't really know what she's getting me into here. Cake is cake. Isn't there like a standard kind they make for a wedding? I don't really have much of a sweet tooth either, so we'll see how much I can actually stomach. Not sure how many different varieties they make you try.

I find its best to not try and figure it out. just nod and say yes, that's great hon!

That's been my game plan so far and it's been working splendidly. I told her that I'd just as soon go to the courthouse and be done with it, but I know she wants the whole shebang, so she gets what she wants and I'll let her know if there's something that I just absolutely don't want or want to do, but other than that, it's her show.

She did pick the colors for me though. Red and Black. That was the nail in the coffin when I bought my car, it had red/black interior.

Also, I've put my foot down on the "gift opening" where people come and watch. My oldest sisters and I refused to go when my youngest (but still older) sister got married.

I don't like opening gifts in front of people anyway. Why on Earth would I want to open all of them in front of people who didn't even get them for us? If they REALLY want to see our reaction to their gift, we'll save it for them, but I'm not having a group of family over to watch us open our gifts and make a note for the Thank Yous.

Mind your own business. Haha

Haven't given advice since last year... :)

The cake is about the guests, have fun sampling!
As far as I'm concerned, the fewer guests, the better.

I don't want some huge spectacle and the list keeps growing. Now we're looking at changing venues because she found out just what kind of budget we're working with between both of her parents, which will hopefully mean at least a smaller ceremony if nothing else.

If you're going to follow the tradition of saving some until your first anniversary, make that part pound cake. The way to freeze it and it not go bad is wrap in foil, then wrap in plastic wrap, another layer of foil, another plastic wrap, finally another layer of foil. It won't taste fresh from the oven but it won't taste bad either and the icing won't be freezer burned.
I haven't taken down the Christmas decorations since last year.

I think we're skipping that part, but good to know.
It's supposed to make the marriage last, like black eyed peas on new years supposedly brings good luck.
That being said, my first wife and I did the tradition, the marriage lasted 12 years. My second (and last) wife and I didn't do it and we're still married after 15 years.
You might be on to something skipping the tradition ;)
Haven't cut my toe nails since last year.

I guess what I should've said is that we won't unless she's set on keeping it. Haha! I like the idea of keeping some traditions, but others are more superstitions.

I haven't played the lotto since last year.
