Does anyone besides me think its funny that 2/3 of what the OP is whining about is out of Google's hands?
Go cry to Adobe, or the Sling Player devs. You wil get further.

LOL at that.If somebody tried to force me to go back to WinMo, I'd beat the snot out of them.

IIRC, there is no free tethering option for Windows. PDANet is not free software. Internet sharing, at least from what I remember could not be achieved without hacking the phone - which puts that aspect on equal footing with the Droid. If gaining those of those characteristics of Windows Mobile is worth losing everything you're gaining using the Droid then you should return your phone immediately and get an Imagio,Omnia II, or TP2.
His didn't either. It's Flash lite. Not full Flash. Which we WILL have on Android and he WON'T on WinMo right away.Tethering is in 2.1 I believe
Flash is coming soon
My winmo phone didnt have flash, you are lucky!
During the CES, Dave Zatz from Zatz Not Funny just had the chance to talk with John Gilmore, Sling Media' General Manager, who unveiled an upcoming Adobe Flash-based SlingPlayer being demo'ed in their booth. This means that you'll be able to turn your Sony PS3 into a SlingCatcher and additional mobiles should be more quickly supported. At the end of the day, it could mean that smartphones like Windows Mobile, Android and webOS will soon be able to be used as a SlingCatcher. According to Gilmore, the Flash player will hit the market first half of 2010 with initial support for the Slingbox Pro-HD and with the Slingbox Solo to follow-up.
3) Flash - as others have noted already, it's been shown on the N1 and now the DROID. It's about as imminent as you can at this point.Furthermore Dave Zatz had an opportunity to briefly chat with Sling's mobile product manager who announced that a SlingPlayer Mobile client for Android is definitely coming; although Sling Media isn't prepared to discuss timings today. Unfortunately, Palm's webOS is currently being "evaluated", meaning a potential launch is much further away. However, here Palm Pre and Pixi users might get a chance using Flash instead since Flash will be definitely supported on webOS smartphones.
Tekmazter,
I didn't know Netflix was working on mobile options Thanks for the link. I'm excited.
1) Tethering - Hate to break it to you man, but I've got an XV6700 sitting in my glove box running WM5 which doesn't support tethering out of the box. This 'full featured' business oriented phone required me to HACK the registry to get that functionality and again, that's WM5. The point? The phone was marketed as a full on everything business phone, yet out of the box it didn't support what Treo's and BB's were supporting at the time. This phone was still sold by Verizon a little over a year ago. You're being a little over critical here. BTW ... tethering is coming to the DROID (confirmed) the first half of this year. You don't have to buy squat.
2) Slingbox - Do some homework next time:

4) GOOD Video Options - Frankly, this is a non argument. The video capabilities of this phone are outstanding. Have you uploaded a movie to this thing yet? Also, with FLASH being added there is going to be far more down the road. And you know Netflix is coming as all efforts on that front are moving into streaming content. rc3.org - Behind the Netflix-Warner Bros deal
Ooops. Sorry if I made it seem like you were confirming it. I realize it was just 'new's regarding Netflix going mobile. I got a little over excited. Wasn't trying to put you on blast! :icon_eek:Tekmazter,

Hey Martin, I have not confirmed Netflix is working on a client for Android yet. I am more or less making a prediction.
It's obvious the direction they're taking the business. Up to now it's been very difficult for Netflix to develop a robust catalog of movies for streaming online due to copyright and licensing laws. It was clear they were going to have to do something to get the movie labels behind them. When this was announced, the writing was pretty much on the wall. It's a good move and I hope it's one that works.
I also can't hook up my droid to either the Mac or PC, it shows it on the PC as a drive, but won't allow any transfers.
