I did some research and there is so much information to process, It seems that a have an "easy fix" here, but I cant seem to get it to work. I bought this phone and it has been dropped from about 4 ft down, as a result it has a cracked camera lens. The phone it self is in excellent condition, it turns on and after the MOTO logo it takes me to the black screen where it says:

Bootloader

2c.7c

Battery OK
OK to Program
Connect USB
Data Cable

What do I do now to get this phone to work?

When I press the X while holding the ON power button, it takes me to SPRecovery. I dont know what to do there I tired to select wipe data/Factory reset it successfully completed that, then I rebooted the system, but it took me back to the Bootloader screen.

This are all the options in SPRecovery:
reboot system now
wipe data/factory reset
Wipe cache partition
mount options
backup/restore
install

Please help, thanks

You need to use rsd lite to flash an sbf. I don't have any links, atm. I would suggest searching for "Motocache1 root regardless". It will take you to a thread here in this forum that will explain how the process works.

If you have any problems, let us know.

The model# for the D1 is A855, do you have a D3?

That is FRG83D, which will require one more update to be up to snuff.

If you flash that, and it still returns to the Bootloader, thats when the trouble starts.

The D3 is new, they're working on a D1 :)

/facepalm I just looked at the phone model in the user profile and not the actual posts. Sorry about that, I thought I was on to something, carry on

Thanks for sharing, however when I downloaded the zip file, I took the SBF file out of the folder so I can locate it through RSD Lite program.

I plugged my phone via usb to my computer it took me straight to the bootloader screen without pressing the D pad.

I turned off the phone with power button, then turn it back on while holding the right or up on the dpad

The phone is recognized on RSD, then I browse the SBF that you provided for me, hit start

It does its thing until 99% it says Phone [0000]: Error switching to BP Pass through mode (0x70BE); phone disconnected.

Then STATUS reads Failed flashing process.

Result: FAILED

Phone screen still reads SW Update In Progress... and cant be turned off unless I take out the battery. The interesting thing is when I put the battery back in the phone goes right into the black screen with bootloader message with out the MOTO logo showing first.

Am I doing something wrong here?

Nope you didn't screw it up.

The A855 is very resilient. Let me locate a file for you.

This is off a members Droid files repository.
