I wish someone would make a better dock

I have the body glove case which has a "kickstand" if you download the dock runner app it switches the Droid to same mode as you get with the multi media station. Saves some bucks.

I got one a few days ago for about $24 after my corp. discount. I like some aspects of it and dislike others.

Pro:
*Its nice to put a slide show of your pics without holding it.
*Easy to listen to music or slacker, hook up my orb speaker to it, even though the stock phone speaker is the best I have ever seen on a phone.
*Easy way to set alarm clock
*Weather (when it works)

Cons:
*even in at the dimmed setting still to bright
*no aux connection
*even @ $24 still a little much, if something better aftermarket comes out will consider returning it.

Over all I am pleased with it, Considering it comes with an extra usb and home chargeing adapter its ok.

I see your point, you might as well use the 3.5mm jack to plug to a external powered speakers. The designer knows what he is doing. you cannot get an audio output from the usb port, can you?

@daywalker: don't have to be,both can co-exist but try to compare both devices with honesty. I've read many info on the Droid, have yet to read something that is honest. The only valid argument I have with my iphone friends are, we have 100,000 apps! The apps alone don't dictate how good a phone is. As an ipod it's the best,no argument there, but put in a phone, maybe two yrs ago still the best. The iphone haven't evolve since then. The smartphone community has caught up while apple been resting on their laurels. Btw,I've a iphone 3g too and it's about to change come early 2010 in canada.

I don't have the setup referred to in the link, but it doesn't sound like it's audio through the USB. They have to mount the SD card. The cars audio system seems to just be using the music files that are stored. I could be wrong, but I haven't heard of someone playing something like Pandora through the USB to speakers.

I think you might be right, that was the reason for the edit.

I picked up the charging cradle on the Verixon site today. Its part no. MOTA855DOCK

Price is $29.99, but use the promo code ACC20 to knock off $6 to $23.99 including overnite shipping.

Awesome! Thanks!!!

Anyone use the car mount? It also takes $6 off the car mount. :icon_ banana:

I'm working with a chinese manufacturer to have a docking station with a USB charger and speakers made. Just sent them the plans. Now I am waiting on cost estimates and time to market.
