Maybe things have changed. So if I got an IPhone now I do not have to load Itunes or any of their other software? I can simply sync it like an Android as a USB drive? The other issue I have with apple is most of their products are overpriced in comparison to say PC's. Again just my opinion. I teach in high school and I have a lot of friends that swear by everything apple. Nothing wrong with that, I just don't like them.
The same apps that you get in the Android Market are available in the App Store. The App Store you access just like you do the Market and updates for your apps come through there.
iTunes is used to register your phone (I have the iPad) and to get the latest firmware. But I still buy all my music through Amazon. I do that on my iMac and it goes right into iTunes. It's also your backup.
The Market is locked down and prices are higher, but for what you get it's worth the extra money for the apps. Angry Birds for example is free on Android with ad's but it's ad free at the app store for 4.99.
I really don't understand why people say "I just don't like Apple products" without giving a reason. Lot's of people say that. Hey I like Apple and I like Android. I hate Microsoft, but there is plenty of reason for that. I understand that Windows 7 is doing better and that's nice to hear but I've had too many windows computers crash on me and I've lost everything. Never happens with my Mac. Perfect? Nope, I do my maintenance every 2 or 3 weeks and every once in a while I have a disk error but all I have to do is stick a disk in it, reboot, and it have it repair.
I've got a long time before I'll be giving up my D2. 14 months. What will I do then? Will I consider Apple? Yes, I will. But if Android is just smoking Apple out of the Market I certainly won't. My Droid, Mac and iPad have all learned to live peacefully together. I like Google so I'll just wait and see.
Me and you are in the same boat brother! If its good its good cant hate!
