Settings > longpress bloatware icon and drag to top of phone...a box pops up...click app info...disable

"Warning: You cant shave with your RAZR. I tried!!"

It is under manage apps as well. Where a downloaded app says "uninstall" it will say "disable"

Fixed. ;)

It is under manage apps as well. Where a downloaded app says "uninstall" it will say "disable"

Also, for some, it will say "uninstall updates" first. After you uninstall the updates, then it will say "disable."

Why are we arguing over what is "confidential" or not? If you look at all this as a whole, meaning the whole process from soak to rollout, does it really matter what was said in the private forums? Is it gonna change what we get as the OTA? (IF most of us ever get it) I think that it's kind of trivial to point fingers at some soak testers for talking about it, when in reality it would not change a thing about what we ultimately receive OTA.

If you were porking your buddies girl would you want it to stay "confidential"? Or would you clue him in on what was happening?

I'm sure the ramifications of cluing your buddy in would hurt a bit more than that of breaking confidentiality with Motorola but the same guidelines still apply.

What I'm saying is, what is the purpose of moto forcing people to be confidential? In the end, everyone will know what problems they had with soak. Why not be open all along the process. I think a whole lot of the folks in these forums could be an asset to Moto in finding the best possible design etc.
Also the buddies gf thing is nowhere near what Moto is doing. If it is, what exactly is do secret that no one needs to see it?

There isn't an argument over whether the soak test is confidential or not. It is confidential. When someone signs up for the feedback network, and then when that person agrees to participate in the soak test, he/she agrees to keep everything about it confidential. So, there's no debate there - it's confidential. Does it change anything about the OTA if people break their confidentiality agreements? Most likely no. But it's all about the principle of the matter - keeping your word.

Also, since talking about the soak is a violation of the confidentiality agreement, and any information discussed from the soak test is technically Motorola's private information, talking about it is a violation of forum rules (see number 2 in this thread - "Guidelines of Conduct" for DroidForums.net). Plus, it doesn't look good for the forums to allow and condone the discussions had by people that are breaking a confidentiality agreement, especially an agreement one of the major manufacturers that this site is about. If Motorola wanted to, they could threaten legal action against the site for allowing it. Is that actually going to happen? No, but again, it's the principle of the matter.

What you're bringing up now is a different question - should it be confidential? That's something else entirely.

Umm, wouldn't that include talking about the confidentiality agreement, which is confidential? Just askin...

No, because anyone can find out about the confidentiality agreement by going to sign up for the Motorola Feedback Network and not agreeing to it (and in turn, not being eligible for soak tests). Also, in the overwhelming majority of situations, it's not against confidentiality agreements to say you can't talk about something because of a confidentiality agreement. The existence of the agreement itself (in many situations, including this one) is not confidential. It's what the confidentiality agreement covers - in this case what goes on in the Motorola Feedback Network - that's confidential.

Edit: Nice try though. ;)
