I don't have the touchdown app, but that got me thinking. I went to settings-backup assistant and contacts-sync now.

FDR fixed it.
I didn't think to try it but what might've worked is toggleing from Swype to the motorala keyboard input and back again(i use swype). But i fixed it before that occured to me.
