Ideal Video Format?

I found that if all you want is a video that fills the screen you can just set it to 640x360. the picture is still very clear and the file is smaller to. The Droid actually stretches it to completely fill the screen. I used Super(c) / Iphone / Mpeg4 /640:360 /

Well, anything that is 1.77-to-1 will "fill the screen", but that's not the point.

I know I'm going to look beyond stupid but on super I have it all set up ans dropped the file into the thing below. My question is how the hell do I start it?

I have had a lot of sync problem's with handbrake but not that many with Super. Though I was having problems with anime concretion, especially from MKV format. I hope the open source Android release let's you play xvid. That's what I use for my Chinese 5' mp4 player.

What settings are you using with HandBrake?

I have the same problem, most my files encoded from MKV to MP4 with handbrake go out of sync after seeking through the movie on the Droid. I'm using the iPhone & iPod Touch settings. Sucks because the quality of Handbrake is much better then any other encoder I've tried.

And you don't have that sync problem after seeking with Super-encoded files? I figured that sync issue was just a problem with the software on the Droid. I use Meridian and I have similar issues, especially with large files. They certainly don't have any sync troubles when played on a PC.

I've used HandBrake to convert an existing 720x544 AVI with Dolby Surround to a 720x544 MP4 with stereo. The sound works, but the video is black. I tried again, changing the video t0 640x480 (the droid is 480 tall) and it's still black. I copied a few straight-off-of-torrent AVIs (700Mb) and they work perfectly. I tried a second video through HandBrake using NONE of the preset profiles, setting it up by hand, and it's the same - great sound, no video. The video plays fine with VLC on the mac.

I use Videora Android Converter to convert .flv to .mp4 and it works great. Its very simple to use as it has a Step by Step tutorial. Once you get the hang of it you won't need to use the tutorial functionality. The image and sound quality can be adjusted to your liking. Thus far I've been very happy with the software and it looks great on my Droid.

I don't think Handbrake has anything to do with the syncing issues. I use Handbrake and when I play the movie with Act 1 on the Droid, the audio gets out of sync if I skip around the movie. If I play it with Android's gallery media player, it stays in sync when skipping around. I am also able to play the same videos on my Mac without any problems. Try a different media player on your Droid and see if that doesn't solve your problems. I have use Handbrake for years and it is a wonderful video converter.

Some people here have reported some issues with handbrake that occur when you skim through the movie on the Droid, even though the file does not have these issues on the computer that created the file.

Just search for Handbrake on these forums, and a couple of threads will show up that provide some suggestions.

I have't read through all 18 pages so has anyone mentioned MPEG STEAMCLIP? I believe it's mac only but it does an excellent job of converting videos. really haven't noticed any sync issues yet.
