if you could do it over would you install gingerbread?

Most definitely.

Like the poster above, I came from Darkslide, no SBF, straight to rooted GB, followed by deodexed rooted a day later. Works like a dream. Darkslide (blurless) was very fast and extremely stable, and even with full blur, GB is outpacing it. I froze/renamed quite a few apps and blur components without negative effects. I like all the new touches, that be Android or Blur additions.
Without any OC, Quadrant score is 1767. Very stable, has not crashed yet. 3G Hotspot works, LED works, all programs show up, WiFi works, signal seems stronger than before, battery life is at least as good (will know for sure when I stop abusing my phone in search of the all the new GB perks). Using Swype, have not seen any keyboard slowdown or missed keys.
When installing, I just made sure to wipe data 3x and cache 3x. Did not restore any of the system apps or data. For most user apps, I let the market re-install my apps and only reload data with TB for specific apps (no batch re-installing). As a result, no issues on install or operation. Big props to P3 and TBH, very-very solid release.
However, the moment BBCrackman/Gatesjunior put out Darkslide GB, I'm so there...:)

I too have installed gb and I have too say other then the slight lag occasionally with the new keyboard I have had 0 issues. LED's work just fine I haven't tried tethering as I never used it that much before so I can't help there.

I went from stock to rooted to rooted gb to deox gb and have had zero issues ran it for 3 days solid with no reboots noticed juice put out a nice lil theam loaded it and still have no issues other then the lag here and there on the keyboard. (I had that prior to loading juice mans theam)

This is my second X just got a warranty replacement because I had some bleeding in the screen on my last X that's why I went from stock to where I am now. Really sucked having to sbf my last X to send it back lol

My last X was rooted running liberty and I have to say gb with the blur seems to be faster the liberty 1.5 blurless and I had it oc'd I have yet to OC gb but might toy with some voltage settings too see how much more battery life I can get currently I am at 50% and it came off the charger at 6:30 this morning and my kids have played on it I've done some remote desktoping, calls, texting, browsing, youtube, ect ect. Not bad for about 16 hrs of use.

My quadrant score that I just ran was 1773.

So I guess to answer your question if I had to do it again????

HELL YES I WOULD

GB is by far the best ROM out. I respect all the devs out here but this one blows everything else out of the eater. This is truly the first ROM that touches iOS!

FLASH ALREADY!!!!

Tappin' and Talkin' on my DROID X!!!

I love Gingerbread but I am going back to 2.2.1 because I am going on vacation and I need 100% confidence in wifi tether and I don't have that with GB

My LED notification light is not working on GB, but my battery life has been spectacular. So I would still run GB if I could choose again.
